I was just looking for a cheap point and shoot camera when I got stumbled to a mall store representative who presented me this Panasonic Lumix S1. At first I was impressed how this digital camera took pictures when I tried on the store. I thought the flash was also good because I took pictures of a distant object inside the store. Somehow the picture was acceptable to my taste. But as soon I get used in using this gadget, I found out what's this digital camera's flaws were. Like most digital camera at this price range, the flash is inadequate. Second, the picture quality is inconsistent even w/ the flash on the automatic mode. It's dependent on lighting source. The worst part of this camera based on my experience was that picture quality of some pictures would look nice and crisp on the LCD screen but when you transferred it the PC, some shots were grainy. But I was able to experiment this camera and tried some settings that I thought would maiximize it's potential and got some good quality shots. For the price what could I expect. There must be some better brand than this camera in terms of picture quality and features within the price range.
