Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Panasonic KX-TG6022B 5.8 GHz Expandable Digital Cordless Phone with 2 HandsetsCustomer Review: Excellent cordless phone with no wire mess Summary: 5 StarsExcellent phone. Tons of features that I have not even learned yet. Good display and good display light. The second unit does not need you to run a wire and create a clutter. That is the best part of the phone. Just one phone cord at the main unit. Then just plug in the second unit and you are set. Everything works perfect. No complains.
Customer Review: Piece of junk!!! Summary: 1 StarsI bought this phone set to replace the Uniden 2-line/2 phone set I had used for the previous 3 years. The base phone on the Uniden just stopped working one day, so it was time to buy another set. With respect to Uniden, 3 years for a $75 phone set really isn't all that bad, and in retrospect, I should have stayed with that brand which I knew and trusted. But no, I had to experiment, and got the Panasonic garbage phone instead...much to my regret.
First off, out of the box, the phone just felt flimsy...too light and "plasticy" for my taste. I liked the feel of the Uniden better. Dialing numbers from the phonebook took a bit longer than I liked (we're back to talking about the Panasonic), and the sound quality was ok...not bad, not great, but certainly good enough to converse on.
I had the phone less than one month, and it just up and died...sorta. I kept getting a message that handset was too far from base, so I could never get a dialtone, or receive a call on the phone. Handset was moved to within inches of base...still no tone. I tried using it on 2 different jacks in my home...same problem. So for all intents and purposes, I have a dead phone.
Sent it back to Amazon yesterday, and ordered what I should have bought in the first place...a new Uniden 2 phone system. I'm waiting to see how much Amazon credits my account for, but they are really good about this sort of thing, so I expect a full or very close to full refund.
Bottom line on this: It's junk...don't buy it! Maybe I got a lemon, but since I wasn't all that crazy about the phone in the first place, I chose to not replace it with another Panasonic. In fact, that's the last phone I'll ever buy from that company.
Customer Review: Good cordless phones Summary: 4 StarsWe purchased these for my elderly parents. They have been pleased with the ease of use and clarity of reception.
Customer Review: Great Phone that works well with Vonage/Call notes Summary: 5 StarsWe have vonage so I was tempted to get a dect 6.0 phone. After reading reviews on the dect 6.0 phones it sounded like the features are great, but the phones did not perform well.
My other phone was Vtech and we were happy with it. Tried a new vtech and returned it immediately. Bought this instead. Very happy.
This phone is great! message indicator light works and displays reads "new message waiting." Light turns off after voicemail is checked. You can copy the phonebook into all other handsets with a few extra steps. You can pick specific rings for phonebook entries (one normal ring followed by your choosen ring). batttery life is great. speaker on handsets.
Slight rare, brief echo in the phone, but that could be vonage or my other caller's phone.
Customer Review: A good phone Summary: 4 StarsWe replaced our existing 2.4 GHz phone system from Uniden with this Panasonic system because we were having trouble with the 2.4 GHz system interfering with our wireless router for our computer network. We already had a single Panasonic phone that functionally is very similar to this pair.
The reception and clarity of the phone is great and we don't get have any reception problems in our three story townhouse.
The controls and operation are very similar to that of our existing Panasonic phone which is nice.
My only complaint is with message alert system. We have Verizon phone mail and this phone will alert you with a light to tell you that you have a message. For some odd reason, the default setting on the phone checks to see if there are messages, but you have to enable the LED alert (it defaults to off). That seems odd to me. But having enabled it is a nice feature to see the blinking LED when there are messages.
But it isn't so nice to see the blinking message light when there aren't any messages, which happens quite a lot. If we check our voicemail on one phone (i.e old phone), then the new phones continue to post the LED until you use the phone. The reverse is true too (old phone keeps blinking if we check on new phones).
Apparently the phones check periodically for the interrupted dial tone indicating that the voicemail system has a message waiting, but once it is detected, it never bothers to keep checking.
One nice feature that the new phone has that the old one doesn't is a battery charge indicator. The lack of an antenna stub is nice too.
