I really wanted a couple of neutral density filters for my Panasonic Lumix FZ7 digital camera to allow me to cut down the ambient light in outdoor pictures. This was a nice filter to give me increased exposure capabilities. For taking pictures of water where you want to give the illusion of movement by having the water appear milky, a filter like this is indispensable for daytime photos for many digital cameras to cut down the amount of light reaching the CCD.
